Crowns
Little girl
Not only was your crown bought and paid for
But the stones that made it were from the African shore
The gold is running through your veins
The clay holder that molded the gold
That makes up your crown is of god
And you are that clay holder too
The holder, the gold crown, the jewel
You are of god
Little girl
Not only is your crown bought and paid for
It isn’t even a possession
That anybody else could ever hope to wear
Plot to steal
Or quantify
See your crown is all yours
Little girl
Your crown does not have to fit in with all the other crowns
Look like the one on the “princess” Barbie doll
Is never too small
Or too big
Not too wide or too tall
So when they call you a queen
Smile like you know, say thank you
And count it a blessing
But make sure even when no one says it
Even if no one sees it
You still know
that crown is
Still there
Little girl
Not only was your crown bought and paid for
But the stones that made it were from the African shore
The gold is running through your veins
