Yesterday I went to a Black History month event at my local senior center A. Phillip Randolph and had a beautiful time. It is so important to know Black history and to gain knowledge from talking to our seniors. Our Black history is our legacy and we have and will continue to change this country and change this world. We are the freedom fighters and we are guided by love. Making change as peaceful as possible and as violent as necessary is my people. Making change as peaceful as possible and as violent as necessary is us. It is appropriate that our month be February the same time as Valentine’s Day AND also that our history is all year round. I felt really supported and inspired in sharing some of my poetry and our mutual love for our people and by extension all people. I’m part of a beautiful legacy. Our history as a people is our legacy. It is a story of love. From Nat Turner to Ella Baker to Fannie Lou Hammer to MLK to Obama to Now. We have always fought for love. We have often died for it. Today I know that ALL of the sacrifice was worth it. That God simply loves me and my people because God loves all people and there is no human waste.
The last will be first family. God simply loves me and my people because God loves all people. Black lives matter and this nation is going to have to deal with that fact. We have a legacy. We have a truth. We are human beings. Now stop telling lies and tell the children the truth! There is one human family under God. Spiritual revolution now.
